La contralto et chef d'orchestre française Nathalie Stutzmann est une des artistes les plus polyvalentes de notre temps, partageant sa carrière entre sa voix rare et profonde de contralto, et depuis 2009 une belle carrière de chef d'orchestre. À la tête de son ensemble baroque Orfeo 55, Nathalie Stutzmann interprète dans Quella Fiamma, son nouvel album, les airs du recueil Arie Antiche, bien connu des chanteurs. À la manière des érudits du XIXe siècle qui découvrirent et éditèrent cette collection d'oeuvres du passé, Nathalie Stutzmann et ses merveilleux musiciens présentent pour la première fois ces oeuvres dans leur orchestration d'origine. Ils jettent ainsi un éclairage passionnant et énergique sur ces airs de Haendel, Caccini, Porpora et bien d'autres maîtres baroques. Pour compléter ce tableau vocal, ils ont exhumé des pages instrumentales d'époque qui offrent au timbre profond et chaleureux de la chanteuse un écrin sur mesure.
