Legacy.

« Legacy » places old works, not previously exhibited and new productions of Sophie Ristelhueber side by side in dialogue with a series of pieces by Alberto Giacometti.

Internationally renowned for her photographic work on war, the artist presents here a reflection as important but less well-known on the traces of family memory inscribed in places and objects of reminiscence. This richly illustrated book gives the reader the opportunity to discover the strength and singularity of her works on intimacy. In an approach tinged with melancholy, Ristelhueber revisits one of the main issues the modern artist is concerned with, the ambivalence between life and death in art representation.
