"666 est l'un des albums de rock progressif les plus originaux de tous les temps. Composé par le regretté Vangelis, sur des paroles de Costas Ferris, ce double album concept est l'adaptation musicale de l'Apocalypse de Saint-Jean. Salué à sa sortie comme « une oeuvre d'une complexité et d'une originalité stupéfiantes », il constitue le sommet de la carrière d'Aphrodite's Child. La renommée de l'album n'a cessé de croître au fil des décennies, et il continue d'influencer des générations de musiciens. Très controversé à sa sortie, il est aujourd'hui considéré comme l'un des meilleurs albums de rock, mêlant métal, rock et musique orientale.
