O.P.A. Mia: l'amour, l'argent.
Let's imagine that music is law in the city. The news articulates life. Speech is suspect. Souls burn in the sun of a fantasy: Sunny Cash, god of money, rules supreme. Facing him is Sphinx, the goddess of truth.
She holds him back and worries him. Fire and water. Rhythmic violence of the bass-baritone, pure lines of the lyric soprano. Let's imagine a serious crisis in the city. We focus on a golden-boy, an initiale (He), and a newsreader (She). Two characters trained in the official speech of the Grand Central, watched over and protected by the gods. Each one struggles not tolose himself and, seeking the other, finds himself.
Words immersedin music, confidences suddenly brought to the forefront. The gods will learn the violence of feelings. The humans will accept the triumph of love. Music will carry the story along. O.P.A. Mia: love and money. I dedicated this opera to the memory of the 1980s so as not to forget their sudden harshness. Secretly, I dedicate it to lovers, the true initiales
