L'un des projets les plus ambitieux de l'histoire du Metal ! L'idée d'enregistrer un album orchestral est venu à l'esprit des deux leaders du groupe, le guitariste André Olbrich et le chanteur Hansi Kürsch dans les années 90. Legacy Of The Dark lands est un opus pas comme les autres, un opus différent de ce que le quatuor allemand a déjà réalisé jusqu'à présent. Un projet gigantesque pour Blind Guardian, une oeuvre unique pour les fans ! Le concept de ce disque prend sa source dans le nouveau livre de l'auteur allemand à succès Markus Heitz, intitulé Die Dunklen Lande, récemment sorti. L'histoire, qui raconte les aventures d'un mercenaire prénommé Nicolas au cours de la Guerre de 30 ans, se déroule en 1629 et peut être considérée comme une préquelle au disque du groupe. BLIND GUARDIAN travaille sur ce projet depuis 20 ans. Certaines choses ont juste besoin de temps. Rome, par exemple, ne s'est pas construite en un jour.
