A major and significant artist on the contemporary art scene, Françoise Pétrovitch offers a universe steeped in duality, at the same time poetic and disturbing, peopled with human and animal figures.

This book, edited in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, is a companion to the exhibition presented at Fonds Hélène & Édouard Leclerc for which Camille Morineau, curator, and Lucia Pesapane, co-curator, have created a chronothematic trail, reproduced here with many texts and reproductions reflecting the richness of the artist's work and her techniques.

The gaze of various authors, international specialists in art history and a novelist, opens this work, and the artist's own words punctuate the chapters of this volume for a journey into that imaginary which invites the readers to reflect and make their own narrative.
