Brittany and Wales form a fascinating and complex pair. The cultural similarities between them date back as far as the fifth century migration of Saints southwards from Britain to the westernmost tip of the Continent. The redscovery fo these similarities lies behind a new era fo cultural exchange and contact between the two regions that began in post-Romantic times, and continued throughout the twentieth century. The essays collected in this volume examine changes within and exchanges between the Celtic cultures of Brittany and Wales, with the aim of contributing towards a new cultural history that transcends the nation state-derived model fo literary and cultural studies.
