Ayreon est le projet de Arjen Anthony Lucassen, génie musical et multi-instrumentiste hollandais. Et pour ceux qui ne le savent pas, Ayreon, c'est une seule et même personne qui dirige tout. Et elle se paye le grand luxe d'inviter des musiciens et chanteurs prestigieux sur chacun de ses albums. "The Theater Equation" est le fruit de 4 concerts affichant complets filmés en intégralité au Luxor Theater de Rotterdam. Avec James Labrie le chanteur de Dream Theater ainsi que tous les chanteurs presents sur l'album de 2004 et 19 choristes Sous-titré en 9 langues et contenant plus d'1h30 de materiel bonus. Ayreon a réussi son pari, une oeuvre grandiose et épique, où l'ennui n'existe pas .
