À l'occasion du centenaire d'Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis, Craft Recordings célèbre sa musique en éditant le somptueux coffret 'Cookin' with Jaws and the Queen: The Legendary Prestige Cookbook Albums'. Cette édition rassemble les albums Cookbook, Vol. 1 (1958), Cookbook, Vol. 2 (1958), Cookbook, Vol. 3 (1960) et Smokin' (1964), parus sur Prestige Records et enregistrés par le légendaire ingénieur du son Rudy Van Gelder. En 1958, le saxophoniste ténor Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis (également surnommé 'Jaws') et Shirley Scott, la virtuose de l'orgue Hammond B-3, se retrouvent dans un studio du New Jersey pour enregistrer leur première collaboration discographique. 'The Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis Cookbook, Vol.1', qui paraîtra en juin, posera les fondations d'un genre encore balbutiant : le 'soul jazz'. L'expérience concluante sera prolongée par trois autres albums du duo, tout aussi essentiels.
